Tablet Won't Stay Powered On

I bought a large tablet from a second hand store and got it home and plugged it in as it wouldn't power on and I let it charge for about 3 hours and all it will do when I hold the power button down is look like its booting up and then it turns off before you can even read what the name of the tablet is. I'd love to fix it but IDK how to troubleshoot it myself.

Did this tablet not come with a power supply? If it didn't, you will be charging the device for a LONG time, as USB charging is slow.

Chargers for tablets are not universal, with voltage, amperage, and even the connector varying from one device to another. Using the wrong charger may lead to poor charging performance, or worse, could fry a tablet, thus you shouldn't have purchased this device without getting a power supply to go with it.
