tehering VS7 with BB torch Paired but not connected :(

hey everyone

I have been trying to tether my viewsonic 7 to torch but only get to "paired but no connected". I have unchecked "encryption" on torch but still no luck. When I pair them the torch sees the viewpad 7 and the passkey numbers match on both but then all I get is paired but not connected.

any help would be appreciated
