No the other one is.. You could run this but you might get a system process error.

Hello All, I am a new member here and have recently purchased this tablet.. seen here.. Cheapest and Most Stable VIA 7" Google Android 2.0 Tablet - US$ 89.00
I am trying to find out as much information as I can about this b4 I break into it. I think this is the Rom I want to run?

I have build# WMT2.0_105
Kernel-2.6.29-00236-g4fdbbb-dirty
firmware 1.6
Would this be the correct Rom for me?
I would like a little better performance, and a better App store.
The App Store that is preinstalled with mine is horrible.
Is the install as simple as copping a ROMS unzipped script to the root of an SD card and then put it into the tablet? no need to root first?
I do have a little experience, I have a rooted Droid, running UD2.3 so I dont mind the work.
I hope there is some help for this thing, ans very happy to have found this community.

I actually went with this one,,
Tipstir's | epad Extra Tweaked Rooted ROM MOD WMT2.1.1_105 | 11/20/10

With my above tablet, just downloaded, & unzipped the ROM, copied the scripts to the root of the SD and installed easy as that. Android Market works great, and runs much better.

Anything any better, or do I just play with SetCPU to overclock for best performance?


I cant thank you enough Tipster, for your time working on these ROMs for us all. I've been reading about your ROM's for a few days now trying to make sure I understood this a little.

the first time i tried this, i was able to have the apple-style icons... but i tried the "SS" (and "TB" and other "OD") and turned out to be not working with my unit... so i had to go back.

But i've tried at least 20 times flashing it with this version... and it won't give me the described icons...

help?

Use the NEW! One for your Tablet. See there are different PCB on each tablet. MOSS Core one is Tz702111. There will be two more that support more hardware but they're being tested. Until the Beta Team gives me the okay then I'll post them. They have to be tested so issues don't show-up! Thanks for waiting..

Hi, been reading your posts here and your homepage for sometime now. I have a generic Tablet 7" with the following:
*VIA 8505
*256MB RAM
*Build WMT2.0_105
*Kernel 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty
*Firmware 1.6

Now going by sinister1's posts, I was thinking of proceeding with:
Tipstir's | epad Extra Tweaked Rooted ROM MOD WMT2.1.1_105 | 11/20/10 but noticed that my Kernel is slightly different as it's 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty instead of sinister1's which is 2.6.29-00236-g4fdbbb-dirty. Would this still work? I dont have a backup of factory installed firmware yet, therefore, unsure how to proceed.

PS. the tablet has a non-IPOD compatible dock connection. Tried a 30pin Apple connector and that doesn't fit.
Help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, is it possible your kernel (pre-update) could have been 2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty, and that you missed the '8' in error? I am looking to update my Tab, but its kernel states '2.6.29-00236-g4f8dbbb-dirty' which is same as yours except the '8'!

I never changed the K-v on the type, but you can't go by that with my ROMs. I best it on what ROM Build you had loaded. There are V2, V3, V4 PCB out not it seems the newer ones mount U-boot differently and build is WMT2.1.6_105.
