Trouble connecting to wi fi

I have two wi fi connections that I use outside of my home, one at a restaurant and one at a museum. I have used the locations a few times each, and the S remembers the location and has connected automatically. The last few times it has recognized the connection and passwords, but stubbornly doesn't connect. Retrying to connect only results in it saying that it remembers it, and nothing happens.

Oddly enough, I was able to connect with someone's unprotected mobile wi fi hotspot at the restaurant. This seems to be happening since the last upgrade. Anyone else having this issue, or know why?
