Turn off - Problem

Over the last two days, my tablet has had some problems, when I turn the screen off (to save power) and then turn it on again (20 minutes later.) The password section of Android seems to crash. Then the only way to get back is through the reset whole.

The first time it happened, I removed all the software that might have been messing around with start up and then I rebooted.
Then it happened again, now I have the timeout feature set to max.

Please can someone tell me what I have to do to resolve this situation, be it, configeration or removel of other apps.
Thanks

I have now found the password configuration area and adjusted that, but alas, it didn't resolve the problem.

Maybe there is a second timeout option for a locked screen, if the tablet is not touched for hours, turn off. (Can't find that option)
But, when I try to turn it back on again, the screen won't except any touch or won't turn on.

This only happens when I manualy lock the screen off.

(Please dont get confused with "locked screen" and "shut down", there is no confusion on my side.
This machine has "NOT" been rooted.)
