Unable to download apps

I have a Flytouch 3 running Android 2.2. It has a "Market" icon which is working but if I try to download and install apps from other sites, I get the message that "There is no phone associated with this account" and the download is halted. This is true even when I access the "Market" thru a file manager. Any suggestions?

i had this issue, researching, found that google was not supporting my device...having a tablet that is not one of the big boyz, we have to find a work around, there are other ways of getting apps.

Try using a different rom firmware on the tablet with Market installed or try using Slide Me to install apps.
