Unable to See Icon on Newly Downloaded Software

My wife and I just bought a Nobis 9 Tablet / Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and can't access our downloaded Internet security software. We see the file in the "Downloads" folder, but when we open it, the file is just gibberish. It's in an .exe format instead of an .apk format: we don't know how to correct this.

Welcome to the forum

EXE files are for Windows and will not work on Android, ever! You would need to go to an Android app store and download something designed for Android, like AVG or AVAST.
