Very Slow Battery Charge

Why does my IRULU 10 inch tablet charge so slowly? I have to charge through the USB port? The battery line in settings says it is using 75 percent of battery while idle--what does that mean and can it be changed?

Sometimes the charger/lead you use can make a serious difference to the charge rate (it does with my Galaxy Tab 3 10inch).
To maximise the charge rate you could try shutting down completely before starting to charge - that works for me on both my tablets and an android phone.

solved it--I returned the tablet because of a faulty battery and go another one. Works perfectly.
