virtual keyboard issues

although i have paired and connnected my bluetooth keyboard to my galaxy 2 7" tablet the samsung virtual keyboard STILL pops up whenever i touch an info input pane( is that the right term ?)thereby obscuring things and making ig hard tosee what i am entering. . is this a keyboard problem, or a tablet prollem ?

This is just a WAG but is there an icon in the menu bar that allows you to disable the virtual keyboard when the other one is active. Some tabs do, just a thought.
