Want to Upgrade the OS on a PanDigital Planet with 2.2 Android...

Hello,

I Want to upgrade the OS on a PanDigital Planet tablet with 2.2 Android. Does anyone have some suggestions as to what stable version I can go up to?
Where would I find the files that would allow me to safely upgrade it (I know plenty about computers, but little to nothing about Android tablets)?

I'd appreciate any help you might have.

I thought that I read that Pandigital had released an official 2.3 update for the Planet. Have you tried running the Firmware update?

Yes; I believe it did update to Android 2.3... but How would I find out if I can use an Android OS that's newer to work on this PanDigital, or would it be notifying me if it was updateable?

There aren't any updates to any official newer versions of Android other than 2.3 unfortunately and I'm not sure if there are any custom ROMs out there either.
