What tablet is this?!?

OK I searched around the net for the past week and can't figure it out. I thought at first it was a Augen GenTouch78, but it has an HDMI output. I then found some images of the Smartbook Surfer 7 Zoll and it looks almost exactly like that!...but the reset button is in a different spot.

I'm guessing it is a Japanese version of those two since the first time I wiped the user settings to factory default, the language defaulted to Japanese.

I had some issues with this thing and finally thought maybe I could try the update v3 to the GenTouch78, but after I did that this thing freezes with some weird creature with a fake beak on it.

Can anyone help identify this tablet? And possible help me find the stock image so I can get it to at least boot up??

Thanks :)

(luckily I took a shot of the ABOUT section...just in case haha)

More common name for that particular generic is either the iMito iM7 or the Dawa D7

Yea I looked at the iM7 and wasn't sure if it might be that because there are different pics showing what it looks like, some have the 4 button and some have only 2. I never saw anything on the Dawa 7, but looks like the other 3, so I'm guessing it has to be 1 of the 4 options. I found a thread http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...imito-im7-market-restore-firmware-update.html that has a few of the firmwares, so I'll try those to see if I can get it working again. Thanks for the reply.

Looks like I have myself an iMito iM7! I flashed with all the other firmware and it would sit there with the icon in the upper left and freeze at that. Finally booted up with the iM7 firmware. Thanks for the help :)

Now...just need to find a 2.2 update to put on this thing!

dang, I can't get my account to sync up with this tablet...it keeps saying it can't establish a connection with the server.

the other thing I noticed is that the build number has changed from 105937 to 143920 and the version now says KS_20101101, instead of Public_220101101

At least with the other version I had installed, I could get my account setup once, download everything I wanted, but then after I rebooted it wouldn't allow me to download anything from the market. Wish I could get the previous version back!

edit:
I installed the GenTouch78 OS instead since it had a separate app download program already installed and it seems to run fine, but STILL cannot get my google account setup. Oh and Kindle reader keeps saying "please check your wifi pr mobile network connection and try again" but everything else seems to run fine.

Is there maybe an update to the wifi I need to do or something?
