whatsapp is not detecting contacts

Good day everybody.
Whatsapp Version 2.7.7533 on Galaxy tab P7500

I was not able have whatsapp from google play so I d/ed apk file from
Whatsapp website, after installation, whatsapp is not detecting contacts with
whatsapp from my contacts.

Please help.
