wifi connected. Error message no internet connection

I have an android tablet 2.2. wifi has full signal, but when I try to get online or download new apps it says no internet connection found.

Are you connecting to your home wifi or are you trying to connect to a hotspot or signal you just happed to see on your tablet. Alot of ISP's have open WIFI signals that you'll pickup, But even if you're close enough to connect, they may be using PPPOE and require a user name and password to complete the connection.

I am connected to wifi both at work and at home, and it does not recognize it at either place.

Hi all. Did you manage to resolve this issue? I just bought an Android 2.2 tablet and am experiencing the same problem.
