Looking at Galaxy Tab on Rogers (Canada) net. Important to us is the Wifi Hotspot function.

Is there a dhcp server that you can configure to give out specific client ip's, gateway ip and DNS ips? Or is the configuration fixed? Can your local pc's use static addresses?

Using the Wifi hotspot you can get on the the internet via the HSPA modem, but are there any problems communicating between local computers using the wifi hotspot (assuming you can figure out their ip address)?

Wireless hotspots like Verizon's Mifi are fixed and not configurable as best I can tell. Hopefully the Galaxy Tab will be ...

Thanks

ok, got atab.
Seeno way to set ip addresses provided by hotspot. But no problem setting static ip and dns in client pc. Ip has to be in the same subnet 192.168.43 and not overlap those provided by the hotspot 192.168.43.129 and above.
Also no problem with client pcs talking to each other through the hotspot. We do small backups that way.
Could be that because the clients run linux too helps.
Anyway, so far so good.
