WiFi sleeps?

On my other devices (Android and Apple) the WiFi stays connected to receive incoming WiFi calls, texts, emails, etc. (even while the screen is black/off)

When I unlock the Le Pan TC970, the WiFi symbol isn't there and then it returns.

Under "settings" the WiFi says "obtaining address" and then connects." I don't see a setting to keep it active so it doesn't sleep.

Am I missing something or is this the way the device is?

I can get a "keep alive wifi" app to fix this.

In a related question, is there no "airplane mode" setting anywhere?

I have no airplane setting either. As far as the Wi-Fi goes...I believe that is how the tablet is designed and you have to get an app to keep it on. I use Wi-Fi Lock.

There is a place in the settings where u can have the wifi stay on even when the screen goes off

Go to settings. Wifi settings. Hit menu button.go advance and you will see the setting hope this helps you
