wondermedia wm8650 a different sort of internet problem

my brother owns a generic wondermedia tablet, hes visiting home from collage and im troubleshooting it for him

at his collage his tablet works fine, however here at home it cant seem to connect to the internet

acording to the tablet, it connected fine to the network, and has an ip address, however the browser refuses to go to any websites and there seems to be no internet access at all in any applications

i tried to get into the router on the tablet, and it wont work, all the while the tablet is saying its connected and the router is showing it in its dhcp

if it matters i have a linksys router

anyone have any advice or help?
