do I have a 2012,2013,2014 nexus7?

How can I tell what gen my Nexus7 is?
I am running KitKat 4.4.4. Updated OTA. Waiting for Lollipop but no go.
I don't want to try to side load it until I know more about my tab.
What info do you need to determine the year of my Nexus7?

Look at the back of your tablet. If NEXUS is written in portrait mode, it's an original N7 (2012?). If it's written in landscape mode, it's an N7 (2013).

Have you actually checked to see if there are any updates? (Settings, About Tablet, System Updates, Check For Updates)

Yes. I check every few days. It says my system is up to date. 4.4.4

I'm pretty sure most of the N7 (2013) tablets here in the US updated automatically over a month ago and are running Android 5.0.1 Build LRX22C. Is your tablet rooted by any chance?

No. I haven't needed to root it.

Google began by updating the N7's to 5.0 and stopped because bugs were discovered and mine never updated to 5.0. Then they updated them to 5.0.1 and mine updated. I recently read they're coming out with 5.0.2 to fix some additional bugs and maybe that's why they never got to yours.

I'd wait a while to see if they update you to 5.0.2. If not, side loading might be necessary. It may take a little time after 5.0.2 becomes available, so try to be patient. Meanwhile, 4.4.4 was solid and my life didn't really change when the tablet went to 5.0.1.
