Beepo, it is the source code of the OS of the tablet for development. Used in custom ROMS.

Cool, but is there some way to apply the update manually? Huawei's docs leave something to be desired...

I have just run z4root. How can I tell if it successfully rooted the tablet? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I ran it and my tablet restarted.

I answered my own question. I installed terminal emulator and tried to run a command and was denied permission. So I figure z4root didn't work.

Well I deleted all z4root downloads and started fresh- This time downloaded from xda-developers.com directly on tablet. Tried the 1.3.0 z4root apk download again (the first time 0 data downloaded and got a parsing error and downloaded an earlier version that didn't work.). This time it downloaded correctly. I ran it again. This version asks for perm or temp root. I picked perm. I guess it worked. Can't find busybox but superuser is in my drawer, clicked on it and it said su was up to date, So I guess this time rooting was successful.

Hooray for me. step 1 done.

I've been surfing your forums for quite some time and i was stuck between ipad or S7 mainly between price and size but this news on 2.2 in Q1 and 2.3 being a possibility is really helped me decide . Has anyone asked if Huawei are going to make an announcement when they have at least gotten to the final stages or any stages of the project ? would be a huge help and even persuade me to buy a few extra battery's

S7 is the first device of Huawei's big plan.
Basically, the road map goes very far, Android OS 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and then 3.0...
But, maybe 2.2's software release cannot used in S7 hardware, 2.3's sofware release cannot used in SX hardware.
Maybe huawei do not like update software in one same hardware, e.g: S7 hardware.

Install Titanium Backup from market. First time you run it it automatically downloads and installs Busybox.

Hi I tried to use the One click with built in Z4Root but it does not work (At least for me) it wants to download the app, fails then says it is successful but the device is not rooted.

Does anyone have access to the Z4Root APK? I would love to have it posted or sent to me. Thanks.
