Need help with videos.

Can not play and type file with any player.
My preference would be VLC since I've used it for some time.

What happened.
Videos played fine. Had to replace mobo due to damaged MicroUSB slot.
Removed back with MicroUSB in it.
After replacing mobo, videos no longer worked.
Tried reinstalling stock rom. That didn't work either.
Rom is JB 4.2.2.

Any help appreciated.

The MP4 files should work. That is a standard format. If you didn't convert them I suggest you try that and convert them to MP4 (yes, the same format). Even though it's a standard format it is really only a container for the underlying video which can be several different formats. MKV files can be an issue and AVI is a whole other story. Stick with one format to try to get it to play, the others may fall in line.

It soumds like you're saying music AND video files will not play?

mp3 was a mistake... sorry.
Suggestion on how to convert.

I don't think I said... but, I use Ubuntu 14.04.
I'll go to an Ubuntu forum for a convertor.
