My Acer A500 tablet does not charge when it is switched off

It charges normally as soon as I switch it on

It is within warranty

Should Igive the tablet for servicing or is there any alternative ?

Was looking over a few post the forum about this problem. From what I read this is a rare but known problem when the battery gets low. So go ahead and call Acer support for warranty work.

Have you rooted your tablet or is it still stock standard?

By OFF, I assume you mean holding the power button down till it asks if it should shutdown?
If so, then that is by design.

The tablet should reboot to a charge mode when its plugged in while it is off, but if it was
already plugged in and you power it off it may not go to charge state.

The solution, of course, is not to power it off. Just let it sleep, and put it on the charger.
These devices were intended as "always on" devices. They were not designed to be
turned off all the time.
