Hello guys, I wonder if you help before I lose my mind :(

I have an Asus Zenpad 10, which my elderly father wants to use after having been in the draw for a few years.

We cant remember the gmail account he used to use and after following the reset instructions, it still keeps asking for us to log into a previously used account. There is zero chance any of us can remember the password or email.

All we want is to put the tablet into a state as if it has never EVER been used before, so we can set up as new.

I have been trying to do this for months and am at the point of almost mental breakdown. Please help!

You've encountered Google's Factory Reset Protection, which requires the email and password of the last account on the device. The only way to proceed is by entering that email and password. Not even a factory reset will work, as you discovered. That's why it's called Factory Reset Protection.

Bypassing FRP may be possible depending on Android version, but we won't help you with that nor will it be discussed. And...since I mentioned it in my response, I need to post the obligatory mod message for the people who may want to discuss it. This is not specifically directed at you sir, but the people who come after you.

We will not help you bypass any passwords, lock codes, pin numbers, swipe patterns, or any other kind of account/ownership verification on your devices. We have absolutely no way to verify ownership.

ALL problems of this sort should be directed to your service provider or product manufacturer. Contact them, provide them with the information they ask for, and see if they can help you. They are the only ones who will assist you in these matters. We cannot and will not give you any assistance with these problems.

All threads asking for help in bypassing passwords, lock codes, pin numbers, swipe patterns or any other kind of verification system will be closed and/or deleted without notice. Infractions will also be assessed, and there will be no warnings.
