Barnes and Nobles. May 24 - announcement launch new ereader device

I do not think B&N is capable of locking the bootloader with eFuse technology like Motorola does. I believe it is a costly affair and I believe that B&N would not waste the money in that kind of investment. If anything, going the route of a signed bootloader would probably be easier for them. But why does B&N need to worry about locking their devices. There is no wireless carrier or TOS to conflict with rooting.
 
I still think it makes much more sense for B&N to be updating/replacing the faltering (relative to the Kindle) eInk Nook rather than the NC after all the effort they just put into updating it to FroYo. That kind of effort is not normally wasted on a device at end of market life (witness Archos 5 Internet Tablet). I guess we will see in about 8 more days ...
