Can I put a "shortcut" to a PDF document on my home screen?

I have a few PDF documents I use frequently, and would like to put a shortcut or link directly to launch them, rather than have to open either the file manager or PDF reader and drill down to the PDF each time. Is it possible, and how? (Coby 7012, factory 2.3)

BTW, thanks to this forum for the directions on how to add Google Calender, Android Market, and GMail.

The market. Navigate to the file. Long press and select "Shortcut" and it will appear on your home screen.
