Can the A500 "Wake Up" for Notifications???

I would like to find a way to momentarily wake up/turn on the A500 for email/calender notifications and reminders.

Is it possible?

Not only is it a pain to have to turn it on to see what notification I just heard/recieved, but the power button does feel a little flimsy and I'm afraid of wearing it out.

Any suggestions?

The power button is just fine. Stop worrying about that. Its a floating button-cap, not meant to feel like its made out of stone.

Each type of notification can have its own sound, so you can tell what it is. (email, chat, calandar, etc).
But just like every other android device (phones and tablets) it doesn't wake up the screen. Not an option. Your battery would suffer if it did.

Agreed. The powr button feels super sturdy to me... plus, have you seen all the threads about people complaing about the bug that wakes the screen up? If it woke up for every notification it would almost never turn off and people would be even more pissed. Lol
