!I have had the same problem. This is not a tablet flaw but rather a poor internal antenna design. Modifying the antenna is not for the faint of heart but well worth it.

What is intailed is removing the small shorted bar antenna just above the end of the stylus holder. Striping back the center coax lead and taping the ground shield clear. On the stripped coax lead attach about a 3 to 4 inch price of small gauge wire. Then run this along side the stylus holder. Enjoy new found wiring signal strength.

Supposedly, most TCC8902 tablets (like the MID7015) have native support for USB ethernet dongles.
