Convert video for ideal playback on Nookcolor?

The one I picked to convert to is 1024x600 1.5 mbps AAC 128 kbps 48khz.
OK, here is what I suggest:

$AVC1.jpg

(A) Select:
- "Customized MP4 Movie" from the format list

(B) Select:
- mpeg4 under Video Options
- any of the Frame size options with 720 as the first dimension
- (Optional) 2 for Encode Pass (longer but better quality)
- Video Bitrate at 1024 or lower

$AVC2.jpg

(C) Bring up the Options menu, under the Edit Menu and
- On the Video tab, select "Fit to width" under "Video Resize"
- Make sure "Expand to Frame size" is not selected

Give it a try and report back!

Ok so I am on my way to belieze for vacation, but I am going to try it when I get back. Thanks for your help.

Try Bitripper, I just used it on a normal dvd and in one step it created an AVI file that plays beautifully on my Droid.
(Although the file size is still a bit large)

On a suggestion from another thread (on Androidtablets.net) I went and brought DVD Catlyst 4 for $10. It works great. It actually has a setting specifically for the NC! Two step process and you're done.

Cool. Anyone have a few pics of the configurations?

Freemake works great, but you can make videos even more compact.

See the main thread for the best Freemake configuration settings I've found.

If it supports mp4 video, then use one of mp4 converters
