Following Buzzman's solution and after dropping my S7 during the weekend, I decided to try a similar solution.
Here is what I did:
I can't remember the name for the cover but got it at Office Max. I am using it putting the Velcro on the outside because of the metal zipper which could damage the screen. The latch is magnetic and closes fine even while using it inside out.

nice job, very clean. I did something like this with a case from office max. I had to remove a pocket that was in the way ( Used the dragon pic to cover up the mess I made 
) and added a velcro strip to attach a home made stylus and another one to close the outer pocket more securely. Everything closes up nicely.

It's worked great for me. The strap can snap backwards, then the case is a stand. I can also easily remove the S7 and just use the kickstand. Also the little pockets are great for extra sd cards. If only there was room for the charger, oh well can't have everything. I usually carry this around in a back pack or lunch box for work so my charger goes in there. My next purchase will be extra wall and car charger so I can just leave chargers at work and home.
