Your tablet was originally intended to be shipped to North America, but its not unusual for such products to get shipped also to
Australia and New Zealand.

bugs so far...crash when opening games app drawer, 1 browser crash' was having a media server crash as well.. going to reboot and try again.
Clearcthe cache for those and they'll work.

Confirmed through Acer Technical Support, COM means PanAmerica (US and Canada) and EMEA means Europe and Middle East.

But the real ota arrived in Some places is reported to be Acer_A500_4.010.07_COM_GEN2 so it seems, just as I predicted on several threads that the leaked update was Not the official release and may have just been a cleaned up 3.0.1 that some hackers put out to sucker the impatient.

That is false logic. There are several thing in this build that match what i was told by an Acer project manager in April before the Iconia was released. I think its much more likely that this is an unfinished beta if you will, version of 3.1. I have never heard of a hacker improving an existing software and then releasing it to the general public. Also my Gps is fixed, I went out and tried it today.

If i downloaded and installed Acer_A500_3.019.04_COM_GEN1 will i be able to get Acer_A500_4.010.07_COM_GEN2 when my tablet is next in the sequence to receive the update? Or will it not allow me to get the pushed OTA when my tablets serial number is called because I am running 3.019.04_COM_GEN1?

So will i be able to get the OTA Acer_A500_4.010.07_COM_GEN2 if i am currently running Acer_A500_3.019.04_COM_GEN1?

I heard from Acer Tech Support when I called them that they have halted the Android 3.1 update citing issues with wifi connectivity. They will resume the global OTA's once they have fixed the issue. Unfortunately they did not have a time when this would be fixed and OTA's would resume.
