New 7" Tablet PC MID 1.3MP Webcam 2GB 256MB WIFI Google Android 1.8.2

With generic ROM I able to get it to work now Market works with my google account. Much more snappy still the Web Cam is sluggish. These tablets are good for other task though. VIA @ 400Mhz/533MHz Not for game play. That you would need faster CPU like Telechip, Samsung, Cortex A8 or A9.

Can this tablet be firmware updated?

OEM has to release one but right now it's firmware version 1.6 and build numbers (these change build numbers) I don't think VIA chipset going to see OS 2, 2.1 or higher?

It could be great to try 2.x ;)... anyway,

... at least, I upgrade mine with fw 1.6 build 1.9_88 :).

I've installed the flytouch_1.9_88_rooted_market_v0.2 and the Market worked for 2 times and then... it stop working

Well the Market boils down to the account.db file. If you delete you start all over again. But not good idea. Just have to wait for the patch then.

Here's some shots with Home++ after it has been rooted

Hi,
I've bought the Flytouch with camera (grey button) and it seems that there are quality issues. The camera and the microphone don't work. I've tried different other softwares. Idem. Android Market is not authorized (message saying that there is an access auth. issue) and the scan is not possible to get the soft downloaded too (camera doesn't work).
The video player works...with the MP4 provided demos but rejects the MP4, MPEG4 and AVI files I have!
Lots of unexpected reboots: unstable
Positive? Internet and wifi access are fine. MP3 player too. Slideshow may work with adequate format, the soft provided is weak and cannot adapt / rotate automaticaly.
No answer from the supplier. Phone mentionned is not operational. No email back.
I upgraded to 1.8.2. Idem. That's too many issues! Last chance is to upgrade to 1.9.88......

Gome Flytouch has buggy firmware v.1.6, 1.7.4 build was very slow. In 1.8.2 build they removed google apps thus making the unit quicker. Now in 1.9_88 build OEM it was better with support of newer camera software etc. There is 1.9_88 Root ROM build this one increases the CPU speed and the unit supports Market but you need to have a google account. If you Web Cam and mic still doesn't work then you have a faulty unit. Without the newer ROOT build this unit would be lousy tablet. Still don't except to play games on it and the Web Cam is still slow. If the CPU could b max out maybe it would be better?

Mine's build 1.7.2
Is is safe to update the firmware and, if so, what's the limit it can take? 1.8 or 1.9, perhaps?

My tablet is the exact same one as in the first post on this thread.

Try 1.9_88 v0.3 first. Unless you have the silver button version then you can try the 1.9.1 (350MHz).

Thanks. Is it common for them to brick?

Here's the link and data for my epad's specific model.
eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

From what I could gather they seem to brick really easily. Also, 1.9_88 v0.3 is only for flytouch, so I'm not really sure if it would work on it. I'm thinking of installing Android 1.8.4 just to be on the safe side, but of course I'd like to have the best one I could.

Okay you have to use the 128MB ROM and I would recommend you go with the 1.9_88 v0.3 with working Market Place

This is what you do:

1. download the zip
2. you unzip it
3. you copy the script folder to your root of the microSDcard
4. you then insert the card into your tablet
5. connect AC power to the tablet
6. turn on the tablet
7. wait for it to tell you to remove the microSDcard
8. you remove the card
9. you remove the folder called script
0. you insert the card back into the microSD slot
A. you turn it on

Now listen one you start the process for re-ROMing don't touch the device until you see it tells you to remove the card.
Note: Make sure the device is completely turn off and shutdown before you begin.

Is there a rocketchip in there? The specs on ebay site is limited. Contact the seller first then. Generic ROMs 128MB & 256MB are for ePad, iPed and aPad with the (Wonder Media 8505 300/350MHz) Those with VIA 8505 (400/450MHz) are true OEM Geninue Flytouch ePad these use the ROM 1.9.1 rooted or non-rooted. If you got the RocketChip 600MHz then you can't use none of these ROMs you need the one for your tablet.
