This reminds me that with my Droid, I've preferred virgin rooted ROMs. I don't know what's wrong with me, but it really bugs me when someone releases a ROM, and then says "Oh yeah, I deleted all the native apps that I didn't like, and I've added 17 utilities that I love but you'll probably never use."In reality, the Dev that made the ROM included the updated market (which was nice ,but I don't understand...by that point people should already have a market on their rooted device) and its the updated market that stopped appbrain from working like it should. I don't know what it was that broke the forum app because using tapatalk pro worked just fine...
OK, that is a totally unfair characterization, but it makes my point: I prefer a world where you get a minimum of two choices. Option A = vanilla Android with root, and Option B = the coolest, slickest ROM some dev cooks up. So far, it's early in the game for the Nook (come on, we JUST got the capacity to install backups, restores, and ROMs!), but I hope we end up with a steady stream of both options in the long run. I'd be frustrated if installing a rooted OTA update meant being forced into someone else's set of apps, options, themes, etc.
