Just got it so far all I can see that is wrong with it, is the mic is not working.

Hopefully, it's just something in the settings and you'll find something in the documentation I linked you to that'll "fix" it..

No I think some one poked it, thinking it was a reset.

Well, you're not going to find anything in the "Settings" to fix that.
Unless you wanted to use something like Skype, it isn't a deal breaker though. My first couple of tablets didn't even have a microphone, and I never missed it.

Only thing i need a mic for is when I record video gates for amature radio, but I'll come up with something

I'm pretty sure you will. You seem to be pretty resourceful, when you run into a problem.
