Off-Topic Discussion

Really cool Chris, if it wasn' t for the fact that we get hungry sometimes, we would get in so much more trouble than we do already! It just happened to me a couple of days ago.You see, I posted some peta stuff about a game with dogs over at -off topic discussion-the one for the whole forum and a guy was trying to provoke I guess and he did succed and I prepared some nasty things to post and then my food came(I was in a restaurant) and after that I totally changed my post and thanks for the food!

It is really quite beautiful. I am impressed.

:eek:Smitten:eek:

As I stated over in the accessories thread I plan on purchasing another one soon. I want to have a dedcated e-reader with :)rolleyes:rooted:rolleyes:of course) stock NC and all my epubs, pdfs, etc and keep my present set up with CM7(which is shaping up nicely BTW) as is and use it for my music and video and surfing.

With that being said my plans may change with the announcement at the end of the month. However I still think I will buy another one anyway.

Sorry to bring the talk back to the Nook but I wanted to share my new Nook Casa with my peeps. Back in a bit with WNT.

Cheers to all.

Be well...

Drumroll.....

That's just the introduction for old times sake...

Wednesday Night Theater

This is via Dangerous Minds one of my favorite blogs...

As they used to say in the old days...

"Smoke 'em if you've got 'em"

;)Heheheh;)

"A conversation with the brilliant Michael Backes, a Hollywood special effects consultant (films from Jurassic Park to Spider-Man 2) who also happens to be one of the world’s foremost experts on the subject of medical cannabis. If this is a topic that is of interest to you, you can be assured of finding what he says in this interview fascinating (or your money back!)."

Fun fact: Several characters in Michael Crichton’s novels are named “Michael Backes.”

Enjoy everyone.

If I don't post for a while, don't worry. I am crazy busy but in a really good $$$way$$$.

Besides, in addition to the bills I have to pay, now I have to save up for one of these Amazon.com: Acer Wi-Fi Chromebook (Black): Computer & Accessories.
I have one of the original CR-48 notebooks:)cool:I was one of the first 5000:cool:) but I sort of borked the updates when I flashed the bios so it is stuck back in January:mad:... I have tried everything:confused:...nevermind about that:eek:...More importantly a new, rather slick-looking Google powered notebook is on its way from Acer.

The big decision is Acer Iconia or Acer Chromebook I am rather brand loyal when it comes to hardware and my Acer i5 notebook rocks. The second Nook I mentioned above is still in the cards but probably not until the fall.

I forgot to mention I am getting ready to buy a new phone, I am giving my Mom my Aria as a Mothers day present as she can't afford a new one. So I am looking at an Inspire 4g. Anyone have one or know someone who does? I have been reading up on it at Cyanogen and Xda but any input would be great.

I hope everyone is well, again enjoy the videos and I will be back as time and energy allow.

Cheers,

Local

Thanks guys sorry I haven't been around I have been crazy busy.

The restaurant is called Chesca's chescasmain It's is in Edgartown, on the Island of Martha's Vineyard, MA. It is a lovely seasonal restaurant and I thoroughly enjoy working there. Only open 4 days a week right now but that will change soon. Painting the island white one house at a time consumes much of the rest of my time until the 4 of July so I will try my best to keep up with the forum.

More pics to come.

Be Well Everyone.

LS.

What is the season up that way? We are heading to Nantucket for a work conference in the middle of September. I am hoping to escape for a bit to check out Martha's.

September is the best time to be here.

Season runs till mid Oct but the crowds thin out after Labor Day. September is beautiful.

Also the Vineyard beats Nantucket hands down.

What is the best casual place to grab seafood on the Vineyard? Preferably not where the tourist like to hang out. I've never been up that way, so what is the one place I would have to see?

If you only have time for one spot it is a toss up between Aquinnah aquinnah cliffs - Google Search and Menemsha menemsha - Google Search Both are beautiful but don't have much in the way of dining. There are restaurants but they are the epitome of "Tourist Traps" for the most part. To be honest "Local Seafood" is a bit of a misnomer as well. Most of the fish and shellfish caught around here is shipped elsewhere.

I would recommend my restaurant for obvious reasons:rolleyes: but it was one of my favorites before I started working there so my opinion was formed several years ago and still stands; Chesca's is easily one of the top 5 on the island and has been for some time. As well everything is casual save one or two fancy-shmancy joints but I am guessing that is not what you are looking for.

If you let me know when you are going to be on the island and for how long I can better guide you to a top-notch meal. Some places close up shop right after Labor Day and I would hate to send you some place on day trip that was closed.

Hope this helps thus far, gotta run be back later....

So far so good. I should be up that way between Sept 17 through the 21st. I am thinking about coming in a day early to catch a Sox game. They have a bunch of stuff planned to to on Nantucket, but I am hoping to escape the corporate stuff ie golf outings and get to the Vineyard for at least a day.

But first a little music...

First time I watched this, I wept. It is one of the more beautiful things I have ever heard. No MICROPHONE, just pipes. Stunning!

Best part is, it was shot by the HOVA himself.

Dig It.
