Yes. It's seems a copy of the Singapore ROM but the updata.app file is broken... must be a joke....
I don't post much but this waiting is getting to me...GRRRRR....

There should be a Windows binary for that.

But if the upload is really corrupted, there is little we can do about that.

Any idea if the service center actually needed to use the computer to flash the S7?

That is the Singapore ROM, the software&fileName=38236 is the actual file after that you can put 1.zip and it will download the file. Changing the name at the end does not help. All their files have the unique numbered file.

Dang! We're back to hoping gentho will do a system dump then... <sigh>

Well we can't get a system dump until we have root back. Root is going to have to wait till Huawei uploads the kernel sources so we can rebuild boot.img for the 2.2 users. And this is assuming that fastboot is still usable.

As of 2.2.2, none of the old root methods work.

I guess the next most productive thing to have is pictures/videos of the Huawei Ideos S7 actually running Android 2.2 so we can post this as news to the front page.

Ok time for everyone to start emailing Huawei and keep bugging them till they get us an update.

If its good enough for them to make money where they sold it, then there is no reason we can't get an update.

So start the demands rolling......
