[ROM] Stock Jelly Bean, Rooted, Deodexed, Crapware Removed

yes, for sure it is 4.1.1 at about tablet. build no is not mol

I can only think of two more things to try:
Download the mcl ROM again and try to flash it.
Flash cwm .9d again.

But I really do not know what the problem is now...

yes, when i flash this , got the same installation aborted.
tomorrow , i will try xp , now using vista. thank again for your help.

Ah. You can go back to the root instructions and repeat that. You will need root I think.

I think I made the same mistake as colour97. After receiving the same error I foolishly decided to reboot thinking this would not cause any harm. However, now I can not even reboot. The screen is frozen with the "Lenovo" logo when I attempt to boot. I am able to manually reboot into the bootloader, but when I attempt a command at the command prompt I get the message "<waiting for device>". Basically, my computer can no longer recognize the tablet. I then manually rebooted into the android recovery and attempted to restore a backup I made before attempting all of this. I get the message "CWM-based recovery v6.0.1.4; Checking MD5 sums...MD5 mismatch!" I have not tried a factory reset yet. Perhaps I am in over my head. I originally rooted the device per MCL's instructions simply so I could create multiple logins for my family (this worked great, btw). Any help is appreciated.

You should get a working bootloader by first booting into recovery, then typing
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
When it loads, you should be able to use fastboot.

Willdroid, if you're still getting the <waiting for device> from fastboot:

  1. Reinstall the fastboot drivers (see http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/lenovo-ideatab-a2109/51074-howto-a2109-fastboot.html). I had to redo this after upgrading to JB.
  2. Flash the latest CWM recovery. Use https://dl.dropbox.com/u/108997228/A2109_CWMrecovery-6.0.1.9d.img if you have the JB bootloader or https://dl.dropbox.com/u/108997228/A2109_CWMrecovery-6.0.1.9c.img if you have the ICS bootloader. It sounds like you have the JB bootloader.
  3. Boot into recovery.
  4. Do a "Wipe data/Factory reset"
  5. Install A2109A_MCL0201.zip.
  6. Optionally install MCL0201_CIRC1PRCT_BATTERY.zip.
  7. Reboot

This should get you back up and running.

I am very unsure, what I have to do exactly. I have upgraded already from 4.0.4 stock ROM (Build: IMM76D.A2109A_A404_01_12_120705) to 4.1.1 (Build: JRO03R.A2109A_A411_03_13_121126, http://fusdl.lenovomm.chinacache.net/firmware/dl/3.1/dlservlet?uuid=d19ce955e88a482e8522546eda54d3f9 ).

Mainly I am interested to root the IdeaTabA2109A, Bloatware removed is nice, but not necessary.

So what are the steps to root it? Are there any things I have to do before?

First, you have to make sure that you have the proper drivers installed on your PC. Here's an extensive guide: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/lenovo-ideatab-a2109/51074-howto-a2109-fastboot.html. Unlocking the bootloader, installing Clockworkmod (cwm), and rooting your tab are described in this thread by our resident guru, mcl: A2109 - Clockworkmod Recovery and Root - Lenovo Community. The cwm you'll need for Jelly Bean is here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1jde5rC0oQGOVRfVzNrY19SZWc.

That should handle the basics for you. Let me know if you need help. I've got to run & help another new user ;)

Oh sorry, I didn't read to the end after reading of problems. I will try it with Linux, after I know where I get fastboot for Ubuntu 12.04. How can I check, if everything worked? Should I see with dmesg an info?

Is it impossible to do it with XP? I would like to know it only. It is a lot of work for me, to use XP, since it is unconnected in the garage.
