System backup possible?

Hi all,

I've just joined so apologies of my question is not original....is there a way of making a 'system SD card' for my 7" tablet (poss. Eken M900S but not sure....) in the same way I can make a system backup in Windows?

I would like to experiment with rooting/different ROMs etc but would like the ability to restore the original ROM if it all goes pear-shaped

That is what a custom recovery is for, to backup your system and restore it when you want.

OK, I'll carry on being dim....can you please advise specifically how 'custom recovery' is carried out on the tablet?
