Tethering to iphone help - stuck with wpa file

Hi guys, I am trying to get my acer a500 to see my iphone wifi pdanet hotspot and i have read that i needed to root the tablet and change the wpa file in system/bin, when i go to system bin and go to rename the wpa file to put old at the end it wont let me, when i click on the r/o to change it to r/w it wont change over, is there anything anyone can suggest

Wait to see if the update to 4.010.10 fixes the problem is my best advice.

The problem here is that the stupid PDAnet application only supports Ad-Hoc mode, not infrastructure mode.
If you have to root something, root the iphone, not the tablet.
