Why does my a500 turn itself on?

Ever since I got my a500 it has turned itself on, all by itself. It will go to sleep OK but then every once in a while the screen will turn on. I'd say that my screen is on about 6 hours a day if I just leave it lying on a table.

I've turned everything off I can find, like the WiFi is off when the unit sleeps. I have been unable to find the culprit. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

you have something somewhere set to update automatically, and when it kicks off it is "waking" up your device. do you have any newsreader, forum apps or email/PIM apps that are set to update on a schedule?

Set your screen time out to a lower number, like one or two minutes.
That way it won't bother you that it comes on periodically.
Also, get in the habit of closing the browser when you are going to sleep the tablet, because a periodic web page refresh will try to wake up the tablet every time.
