Amazon Free App of the Day

Does that look like wine in my avatar?:D Sorry about Lovie, but at least you still have Cutler.

I don't think Gloria will allow you to spoil her meal by drinking beer with it.:p

I didn't believe they'd do it, I thought everyone at Hallasville loved Lovie. The team sure did, but I guess they don't count.:(

Right now I'm drinking wine with my meal, red wine,I don't like whites. When the meal call for white wine,I drink beer, same color!:-D Nobody in Italy really would think too much about drinking beer with a meal, what really bothers us is to see people eating spaghetti with a spoon or cutting them before dropping them in the water or putting oregano in the tomatoes sauce for the pasta. Guys as soon as you get to 75,80 you tell me and I come wherever you want me to and cook for you. I'm good with pastas but my specialties are risottos , hope you know what risotto is and my absolute best dishes are risotto with mushrooms,I learned and stole a couple of secrets from a husband I had for few months ,who is a chef and comes from a family of chefs.Another of my best dishes is risotto with caviar.

I checked the app and is good and it seems easy to follow the recipes because all the pictures. I can make a better mushrooms risotto, as I said before but is a secret how to!:-D

From Cheese is the 1/17 app.

Draw a scent-trail From cheese to mouse, so he can follow the path all the way down to the cheese, grab the precious food and bring it to his starving colony! They need your help! Now!

I am in Wisconsin and this has cheese, so I downloaded it. :) Pretty fun game once you get past the easy rounds. One of the few FAOTD with no 1 star ratings. Almost all 5 star.

Puppet Rush is the 1/18 app.

Puppet Rush is a fast paced puzzle game which requires quick reflexes and even quicker fingers. Guide puppets to safety by giving them the right directions. There are four different worlds and over 80 levels. Guide the puppets around the board into the portal while avoiding bots roaming the board.

Okay, to make up for giving us a decent app yesterday, we get Puppet Rush. No 5 star ratings (not even from the developer?) and 4 of the 8 reviews are 1 star. Also it requires Adobe Air, which I still don't know what that is.

Adobe Air is Adobe's attempt to recapture some of their Flash market. It used to be that websites and specifically website games were built with Flash. Well we all know how that's going. So Adobe created Air instead. Air stands for Adobe Integrated Runtime and is a cross platform code system made to run apps. So instead of having Flash Adobe now wants everybody to download and install Air and for developers to create new apps using Air.

There are a couple of problems with that. 1) It is still Adobe's proprietary property, which means we will have to rely on Adobe for updates and compatibility just like Flash. 2) It is just another system to introduce and run for no particular reason other than so Adobe can get people hooked into it again. 3) You have to download and install an additional layer of software to run things. 4) Last time I checked the internet was running just fine on HTML 5 and apps have no problem running first hand in their OSes without Air. I basically see it as pointless and is Flash under another name.

There are a couple of problems with that.

I had yet another problem with that. Two says ago I received a message saying my Adobe Air was out of date and a link for updating it. When I did, my NOOKcolor went into a nasty boot loop and I had to restore it from my backup. The good news, now I know I've got a good backup.

I can see some use for Adobe Air in the fact that it is cross platform, and can be usefull in Enterprise environments, especially in situations where you need web based solutions with local file storage and structure.

Freeze! is the 1/19 app.

It was a wonderful day for our anonymous hero, at least until the moment when he was torn from his loved ones by a viciously sharp grappling hook. Locked in a cramped cell on a planet far, far away, our hero could give in to despair and abandon himself to his fate. But with your help he can overcome gravity, turn worlds, and even – escape!

Yes, but there are other open source solutions that allow you to do the same thing ;) Cross platform useful, being tied to Adobe not so much :)
