Amazon Free App of the Day

You won't need to take a snow day today, but you might need a canoe. The 18" of snow in ND is supposed to be all rain when it gets to you. Make sure Tiki wears her raincoat.

Down in the tropic of Chicago, you might need a canoe, but up here we still have plenty of snow and got more yesterday. I am sending the rain down to you. Nice thing about rain though, I don't have to fill the bird bath every day. One of the older cubs is awake. First time they have come around while there is still snow on the ground.

Poor things, they can't hybernate until August just because nature it's getting crazy, thanks to us humans, and we still get snow so late into spring! Get ready with the beer,JB...you should have a good reserve if Spider and JP paid you according to your merit.....you have been doing an excellent job reviewing....it's going to be hard for me to cover you in June, honorably enough not to make everybody wish you were here!

I am counting on you supplanting my reviews, so no worry's here. Thank you for the compliment, though!

I don't understand your "thanks to us humans" comment. I thought it was us humans that were supposed to be responsible for global warming.

Sorry JB, I guess it's the Italian way to say things that doesn't quite work in English! What I was trying to say it's that we can thank ourselves, for f....g up nature.....we did a lot of damage!

Resume Builder Pro is the 4/15 app.

Resume Builder Pro is the leading resume creator on the Amazon App Store. Not only does it manage the important details of your resume, but it also allows you to generate a DOC file of your resume automatically. The DOC file is automatically sent to your e-mail.

Never worry about starting from scratch again because Resume Builder Pro makes it easy to update your resume to reflect your most current information. Your resume is stored in the cloud to prevent taking up space on your device.

Nice timing on this one. After filing our taxes, many of us will probably be looking for a second job.

Do you think there is a market for bottled snow?

This might not be the app for you. The description said it automatically sends a DOC copy directly to your email. One reviewer said it did not allow them to do that. Apparently the info gets stored on the Cloud, which raises the possibility of you losing your data altogether. Personally, if you need a resume, and are unsure about how to go about it, I suggest you Google it. Just one piece of advice, keep it short!

I would say this is a risky app. Info is stolen from the cloud all the time. I don't trust those new fangled contraptions! 8)

WarGames: WOPR is the 4/16 app

This is THE officially licensed WarGames mobile game!

Step into the role of the iconic WOPR computer as you wage intense battles of Global Thermonuclear War against characters from the movie. Take on David Lightman (played by Matthew Broderick), Jennifer Mack (played by Ally Sheedy), McKittrick (played by Dabney Coleman), and others.

This is a very cool match game. All 4&5 stars except for one reviewer that gave it a 1 because he got charged for the app. IMO reviews should be about the game itself, the graphics, the controls, the entertainment value, etc. This game has all that and more.

Bridge Constructor Playground is the 4/17 app.

Bridge Constructor Playground offers people of all ages an introduction to the topic of “bridge building”. This game gives you the freedom to let your creative side run riot – nothing is impossible. Across 30 innovative levels you have to build bridges over deep valleys, canals or rivers. Following this your bridges will be subjected to a stress test to see whether they can support the weight of the cars and/or trucks which drive across them.

Don't bother me, I am still busy playing yesterday's free app. Actually I did check this one out. In the immortal words of what'shisname, Forgetaboutit! One 5 star rating and it is probably by the developer.

Forgetaboutit!

That's a shame, I was hoping it was a good one. It's a virtual rendition of a contest many schools have been having for years now. The students create a bridge out of toothpicks or something similar and then the "Judges" of the contest hang weights from the center of the bridge until it breaks. The bridge that holds up under the most weight wins. Had this app worked properly, it could have saved countless toothpicks from a horrible fate.
