Amazon "free" apps aren't really free in the long run; the more apps you download to try out, the greater the burden on your device, even if you uninstall the apps. Check your logcat logs on device startup, where the Amazon AppStore looks for status/updates on every single app you ever downloaded.
Only way out of that mess is to get a new (clean) Amazon account for your device.
