CM10 for Coby 8042

So I restored CM9 which everything works and from terminal lsmod it showed me what was loaded. Then, I re-flashed CM10_9740 which everything works except touchscreen and used the mouse and terminal lsmod and it is not using ft5x_ts. So, I guess i just have to make it use it. Going to try. This is fun.

So I tried to use the terminal app on you have on CM10_9740 and I did su and got su permissions and then I rmmod gt2005 and its gone when I lsmod again. Then, I insmod /system/lib/modules/ft5x_ts.ko and it returns.

insmod: inti_module '/system/lib/modules/ft5x_ts.ko' failed (File exists) =(

Umm.. how can i dump my 8042 or is that a term for nandroid backup? Let me know cuz I will get you whatever you want to check out. =)

So I guess I have to insmod from the outside while its in recovery and from CMD?

Maybe the boot.img needs to be revised for my 8042 to use the ft5x_ts.ko

Ok. From trying to get the touchscreen drivers on that ROM for adb. None of my backups have touchscreen. Ever come across this problem?

You can burn the ts drivers in backwards using the wrong kernel and ts modules.
Settings > developers options > pointer location and show touches

Check both then touch screen.

I totally powered down and then booted up and touch on CM9 is back.

That was a close one. So how come the 9740 rom is smaller than the 8042 rom? How can I get the right drivers to install on the 9740 rom?

What if I delete the gt2005_2015.ko off the modules and zipped and re-flashed. Or does the boot.img tell it to use the gt2005_2015.ko?

Use the boot.img and modules from 8042 cm10 replace the 9740 boot.img and modules then rezip the 9740 and flash.

Black screen. How about I replace the CM9 boot.img that I have working on CM9 and replace it with the 9740 boot.img?
