It doesn't automatically update right away, so you are best to do it manually. You should definately update to 1.0.1 or 1.1 before rooting. It is a matter of preference which you choose. Just be sure that you use the correct autonooter for the version you update to.

Thanks. I don't see any option for 1.1, so I'll be doing 1.0.1 right now.

The update on B&N site is the 1.1 update, thats the one you should use, then root it with Autonooter 3.0.

Can't stress this one enough. Its what I did wrong, accidently chose the wrong file. But it was easy to fix, so all good
