The black sidebar means your photo is not sized correctly. There are a couple of tutorials here in this forum. It's very important to make sure your Nook is lying on a flat surface when choosing and cropping pics for wallpaper.

This didn't work I used a pic 2030×1823 and it still gave me the black bars.

Yes we do , Jonesgirl......I guess we both like to open our nook in the morning and think of healthy and jucy breackfast! Those strawberries look delicious!

Ok I finally figured out what was wrong with my wallpaper! It had nothing to do with size. I can't believe that I could find nothing on any of the forums. Maybe no one ran into this problem that's why I couldn't get any answers. If you have the program perfect viewer and your having this wallpaper issue go into preferences and unchecke manage wallpaper. It was causing me all the problems. Everything back to normal!!8)
