really - why would we even discuss how the two are equal, they aren't in any way. The S7 is far and away a better unit.

You know it's customary to add smileys and exclamation marks, in a light-hearted, friendly thread like this one. So people know the venom isn't real.

For example:

Why would we even discuss how the two are equal? I mean, the S7 has a resistive screen, lower resolution, and lacks the brilliant colors and wide viewing angle of the Nook. They're hardly comparable!

The truth is you guys are awesome, and I enjoy the rivalry. Don't tell my pals I said this, but I can see why your forum is doing so well: I actually checked out the S7 for the first time last night, and couldn't believe the price for the hardware you get. It's not terribly exciting to say they're different devices for different people, but it may work out that way. If I were buying a tablet for myself, instead of an eReader for my wife (with a gorgeous screen, that turned out to be easy to modify and has a great processor), I'd give the S7 a serious look.

OH!!! You're being proactive! Got it. No worries, I saw the smiley this time. But I think he's right...seems a bit quieter this week. On the other hand, feels like we have 15-20 new members. OK, made that number up...but I do see some new faces.

The count as of Friday 1/21/2010 at 12:07 PM (ET)

Huawei = 4223 posts -- Post rate since last update = (4223 -3875)/6 = 58 posts/day
Nook = 2048 posts -- Post rate since last update = (2048 - 1681)/6 = 62 posts/day
Archos = 1471 posts -- Post rate since last update = (1471 -1330)/6 = 24 posts/day
Samsung = 628 posts -- Post rate since last update = (628 -601)/6 = 5 posts/day

And that includes all the times I visited your side.
