We've had a lot of 95+ temps and we got 8.59" of rain in the last 3 days. I guess we could say that's Tropical too.:( Too bad you're not in AZ, then you could say, "But it's dry heat.".

That's what we said in Kuwait. Yea it's hot but it's a dry heat! LOL

Nice to be heard from, like I said crazy busy, but in a good way. Got a promotion, and a raise :->.

Congrats on the promo and raise.

I got the gTab from my landlord for $200. He bought it a few months ago thinking he needed a tablet, turns out he didn't. I am probably just going to sell it to one of my buddies but it will be fun to play with for a while. Thing is fast. Really fast. CM7 oc'd to 1400 and the thing screams. A bit different setup than the NC. As I said had some issues but so far so good.

Nice pick up. I am thinking aobut doing the same thing now that there are some out there and people realizing tablets might not be what they are looking for or just have to upgrade to the latest and toss their earlier one aside (not happening to my nook btw. That is why I need one just for the car so I can keep my nook with me ;) ). I have been playing with the idea of getting one with 3G and making it a dedicated infotainment device in the car.

This is what I deal with every night. Friday it was 130... yeah DEGREES! in the kitchen, for 5 and a half hours. Delightful doesn't really cover how it feels, but it will have to do.

Do you even have to turn on the ovens and ranges or do you just cook everything on the counter?

:D JP

Turns out the A/C was busted! WTF? Right... Things are a bit better now. Last week was hotter than Belzebub's backyard BBQ.

FREE ALBUM: SPIN Tribute to Nirvana's 'Nevermind' | SPIN.com

SPIN's August issue pays tribute to the 20th anniversary of Nirvana's Nevermind, and as part of our package we tapped some of our favorite contemporary artists to cover the influential album's 13 songs, in their original order. The download is called Newermind, and it's our gift to you.

We were happy that two of Kurt Cobain's personal faves -- the Meat Puppets and the Vaselines, both of whom Nirvana famously covered during their MTV Unplugged taping -- joined our effort. Below you'll find the complete album tracklist, with reflections from each contributing artist.

Moshe,
Either you're not married or you have a very understanding wife. You've got way too many nice toys for a typical married guy.:)

Spider, I am very happily married. The wife and I are both tech freaks and I buy her lots of cool toys as well. We are retired, having finally put a driver in our last remaining over the road truck and we live in a 30' motorhome. Not rich but comfortable and loving life. We have been tablet shopping several times in the last month but still have not found "the" tablet. My wife is leaning towards the playbook or the touch pad. She spends lots of time on her facebook games and wants a tab that will allow her to continue to do that. To my knowledge, those are the only tabs that will allow her to park her laptop. I' m still not sold on anything other than the nook right now. Still trying to get a webcam working in host mode on the nook. If I can get that working, I may not upgrade. There are too many new cool toys I want for the motorhome. Besides, every extra bit of cash I save on the tablets leaves more to play with in Las Vegas this fall.

Hi Gloria,
It's nice you could get back to the cafe and relax after all the pressure and stress of going to the beach. Best not to post those pictures though. JP and I probably wouldn't notice them,:) but we're not the only mods out here.

Howdy y'all! Hey Spider congrats on getting upgraded to Mod, just noticed that cheers brother.

I've got a quick Wednesday Night Theater for ya. I have been a fan of Stanley Kubrick for as long as I can remember and this video is a great insight into the many ways he used spatial perception to dislodge you from the films reality and twist things without you being directly aware of it. I had noticed some of these before but to have them laid out and explained is pretty cool.
