I don't realy want to download game content for other devices if I can help it. I'm afraid I'll have to go back to build 5:(...or wait till Legionnaire solves that problem:)

i install build 6.1 . . . wow . . . its very good and fantastic . . . its very better than buile 5.0 . . .just my bluetooth not work and not found . . . can you help me for solving this problem . . . ?

this is my first post in this forum.
I'm from Germany.
Very nice project here.
I use the viewcomb software in German since version 5.1.
actually i updated to 6.1
In the mail applications I noticed something.
German is set as language in the system, but the dialogues are in English. This happen with mail with gmail application. Other aplications have german language (maps etc.)

unfortunatly, most game publishers for andriod produce games for popular phones and handsets, and the biggest publisher, GAMESLOFT, does not currently support generic honeycomb tablets like the vega/viewpad, there are tegra 2 mods for the gamesloft games, but these again are usually device specific, for tegra 2 smartphones, and a couple of tablets (samsung/acer), however, iv had some games running smoothly, Tom clancy hawx 2 hd, assasins creed hd, to name but a few, but the scaling is wrong, and touch control is therefore compramised, I think there may be a small driver issue, where the scaling doesnt "turn on", but the mapping for the touch controls does, using the option "stretch to fit screen", usually crashes or freezes the game, iv even had problems with tegra zone games (nvidia) crashing 2/3 minutes into gameplay for no reason, which i think has been caused by lack of ram, or cpu cycles, im not sure, i dont know the code, iv yet to try 6.1, but as this is an ongoing project, i will try, currently, on build 6, I have these games working smoothly, some have issue's though...

PES 2011 gamesloft = black bars on side of screen/ touch control can sometimes "stick", but smooth gameplay = lg p9990 smartphone rom

Samurai Vengance 2hd tegra zone = plays perfect, scales properly only "ingame", touch control perfect = acer iconia a500 rom

Dungeon Hunter 2 hd gamesloft = plays perfect, scales properly only "ingame", touch control perfect = acer Iconia a500 rom

Asphalt 6 hd gamesloft = black bar at top of screen, touch controls out of sync with screen, but "playable", = acer Iconia a500 rom.

i have over 25 different games, and about 12 roms for each, so testing each rom is quite time consuming, considering the game data has to be downloaded from wifi each time, there is a way round that, but few games come with the sd card data, so im taking a wild guess on each rom, hopefully the issue will be worked out soon.

So are you saying you DID install roms from other makes as well? and all of them works as usual without giving any major issues to your Viewpad 10s?
If so, this is another area to explore more roms to play with.

Hi, I have a strange behavior, first of course my previous problem that hidden WIFI do not work with 6.1, so I've been told that 5.x seems much more stable. I installed 5.1 last night, worked OK, installed all my apps but after playing arround for 3-4hours it got very very annoying, the touchscreen did not really react anymore, even moving between screens did not work, I rebooted, I tried to wipe the cache, nothing helped, also tried calibration several times, the only way how i could still navigate is to plug in a mouse.

Did anybody else ever have this very strange behavior? Any solution?
 
..btw, what I realized in addition to not seeing my hidden WLAN on 6.1, I normally have more than 12-15 WLANs arround, with 6.1 I do only see about 2-4 WLANs, I also forced the BAND to 2,4GHz to try if it changes anything. For me the WLAN drivers with 6.1 are much worse than before in 5.1 e.g., hope this can be fixed. thanks a lot!
 
Sorry for multiple entries on this topic, but I now managed to get VEGACOMB running. vegacomb finds all WLANs and even my hidden WLAN is fine. Sorry for this message, but my observation is that Vegacomb is running much smoother and faster than Viewcomb. e.g. the moving between screens, or what was somehow annoying the moving back from applications to the home screen, it normally took 2-4 seconds, and you never know if the HOME button pressing has been recognized or not.

Would be very much interested in your feedback, as I understood that Viewcomb is based on Vegacomb and tries to make it even better, in my case for Viewpad 10s it does not look that way.

I'm having some wlan-issues, too. Did not have them on Vegacomb. Sometimes the vega shows good connection and won't open any page. When i deactivate wlan and try to reactivate it seems to be stuck. The wlan-activation button in settings is some kind of "greyed out" and won't change. Had to reboot to get proper connection again.

Anyway this is by far the greatest rom i've seen so far. It's fast and it just has what other roms are missing: easy installation. No flash this over that and add patch 1 to 10 for fat/diet/dpi whatever. Just a mouseclick and done. Great job.
 
Hi Again,

Just finished installing 6.1, found out that the bluetooth problem remains the same like build 6.
The BT only works once after the device restarted. Once you deactivate the BT, then the BT can no longer function.
Even if you managed to get it working, sometimes the pairing failed, or failed in the middle of file transfer.

I sure like to send some logs, traces, whatever, i really anxious to get this thing working.. If you can show me how to get these traces/logfiles, i would be more than happy to send these..

yes, i have installed roms for other devices, but currently, there are no roms that are specific to the viewpad 10s, its just a matter of trial and error, and there still is a gpu issue, games are not scaling properly, if your installing a game apk, follow these steps....

make sure the rom is for a tegra 2 device, at 1024x600 if possible.

turn wifi OFF

install apk from sd card

game will ask to download additional data over wifi, and ask to turn on your wifi, allow it

once data has downloaded, dont start game, quit the game, (to bypass any drm)

start game again, and play for a few minutes, check that it scales properly, and touch control is ok

its upto the user if they run the game with wifi on or off, some games will enable drm measures when connected, others not, i prefer to enable "flight mode" when using the apps.

for reference, Legionnaire has the viewsonic viewpad 10s wifi+3g model, same as me, this rom WILL work with other t250 tegra tablets based on the vega, but you may experience issues, please report which MODEL you have, as this may help the dev to understand the differences between the chip sets....
 
6.1 rocks, screen is responsive, no lag, colour rendering is freakin sweet, gpu seems to be behaving itself, as is the wifi, which has a strong connection, im going to test a few things, games etc, many thanks Legionnaire.

just one thing, when i have a file on a usb stick, i want to copy to the sd card, yet when i copy using efile, and navigate to the sd card, there is no option to paste the file, can you tell me how to achieve copy and paste using efile, thanks.

looking forward to final release, which cant be far away now, only gps and hdmi to go...
