Granddaughter's Color Nook was sent yesterday. Unfortunately it will not be here in time for this free app. Usually $4 but apparently it does use 17 mb of space.

16GB or 32GB Class 4 or 6 SanDisk (SanDisk has dropped class rating so if it doesn't have one that is ok). You definitely want a SanDisk though since they have consistently been shown to run best on the Nook Color.

Edit: Just to be clear it actually needs to be a microSD card.

Just to be Geekazoid about it, you would only *need* the Sandisk brand if you are booting from the card. That said, I only use Sandisk in my NC and I boot from eMMC. (Sandisk class4 32G's can be found @~$20 all over the net anymore.)

He was already asking about bootable cards in another thread Although at the end of the day I think you are better served making the changes to the Nook Color on the internal memory and just having a standard data SD card.

The primary reason most people have for using a bootable SD card is because they don't want to mess up their Nook or their warranty. The Nook Color is virtually impossible to mess up to the point it can't be fixed (because you can always boot from any bootable SD card) and can easily be restored to factory condition for warranty purposes. However, people fear what they do not know so the bootable card offers a placebo for their fears. In the case of a refurb with a 30day warranty it is even less of an issue.
