[ROM] ViewCOMB 3.2 - Honeycomb 3.2 for ViewPad 10s

Build 6.3 is ready for download. Now support Full Screen HDMI !!!
Wow, you're lightning fast!
How much bandwidth and traffic does your server have, those roms must kill that... :)

Well, a few days are gone now since i installed 6.1 and until now i can only report of positive things!
Running still smoth and i had no force closes or crashes in any app or games yet^^
I am now also able to use eduroam at the university, i think due to the change "Working EAP MSCHAPv2 WPA-Enterprise" - thats so great!
So dear students install this rom, you will be able to use it in a very nice and easy way ;)

Dear Legionaire,

Thanks for swift update!
Just wonder what shall I do in order to set my CPU speed to 1.2 Ghz?

Rgds.

Today I install Viewcomb 6.2. I try to play a few games that uses accelerometer controls, such as Asphalt 6 and NFS Hot Pursuit. The result, disappointing not be controlled normally. Where can I setup the controller settings that use the accelerometer? In Froyo all of Them runing very well.
I hope anyone can help solve this problem.
Thanks

can you please tell us what release version of these games your running ?, it would be usefull, thanks..

Already working on it. I have a scripts and drivers, the only problem is the HC source code.

thats the problem with hc, the sc wasnt released, IC's source code is out though, funny how they chose to release IC and not HC, kinda put a spanner in the works, but you got it mate, gps would be so cool, i do a lot of walking, so having the gps working without any net or wifi would be handy as hell, keep up the good work bro, every time i dl, i get more and more impressed with your abilities, maybe someday, i will have a crack at the sc too, xd

Thanks Legionnaire,
your version 6.2 really runs better than any other version before. As you have already replied, the hidden SSID issue is fixed, perfect.

Please, let me aks you 4 questions in addition.

* as you seem to be a very active developer, which is good, very frequent updates seem to be available. Is there any way to simply update your ROM via Recovery. Please do not say NO, but I fear, as you provide the exe which clears all the data memories when starting. would there be any way to only update the next b6.3, or no way and a full reinstallation is required, which is OK for another time, but generally it does not look to convenient, even if tools like Titanumbackup exist.

* What is the reason for the FC very often in standard browser, do you agree or have same experience, it only comes when flash is in a web page, using adobe flash 11. i once tried maxthon, or opera, but both seem to not support flash in the same proper way as the native browser does. would be interested to understand whats the problem regarding these FCs, and if somehow i could overcome it, as i use lots of flash-based sites on daily basis.

* Do you know what is the native DPI resolution of the VEGA/Viewpad 10s? 160 DPI or 120 DPI. to me the 120 DPI looks a little blurry, so I switched to 160 DPI for short period of time, which makes everything much more sharp, but honeycomb look / feel is gone, and it looks like Gingerbread as long as you do not go back to 120 DPI, which was new/interesting to me.

* Do you know if Bluetooth Tethering works (external smartphone = the source of internet, Viewpad = the user), so a DUN is opened at the phone which provides internet for the tablet. any experience here? is there any tool I need to install in addition?

Thanks a lot, sorry for the many questions.
Norbert
Hi,

* I don't practice CWM update, but I will try to provide a zip updatfile for the incoming versions.

* Only reason is the amount of memory dedicated to the GPU. More GPU mem means less main memory. Flash seems to require 128MB at least, otherwise the browser crashes with complex Flash content based pages. But, also the browser crashes if running out of main memory, so this is a complex game and tradeoff. You can experiment with it in board-shuttle.h in the kernel.

* Native resolution is 160 DPI, but porting of honeycomb to our device requires adjusting the dpi.

* it should work... not tested.

It is not easy to compile them, as we would need to have HC sources, the only way to get it is to modify Gingerbread sources to reflect HC. But I will not give up, because I need a GPS for travel around the world. :)

Many thanks for your detailed feedback, very much appreciated.

Sorry I know that its way too early to already ask for santa specials, but maybe you really could provide the delta ZIP, so that its easier to follow your brand new releases, just like you did for the HDMI part )

Sorry, for this bunch of questions, but i'm very interested in your ROM and experience some things I wanted to check with you. What i realized, which sometimes makes me crazy is the different way of required time to press POWER button to wake the tablet. sometimes a very short tip is enough to turn on the screen, sometimes you have to press for 2 seconds. Is this normal? especially that the behaviour changes.

Cheers, and many have said this before I'm sure, but we all love you for spending so much of your spare time in this ROM development, very much appreciated.

Hi, Legionnaire!
I have just downloaded build 6.3. After playing with the tablet for a few minutes I understood that this build has some bugs. They are: touch screen not acting normally, titanium backup doesn't think it's worth restoring my data (the programm writes ''not enough memory'' though there IS enough memory). Still thanks for the work, keep it up. I hope you'll make this ROM perfect. The most stable Build is #5 so far.
