Hello,
I send this email to Coby kyros on updating the mid8024:

"Hello,
I have a coby kyros mid 8024 and wanted to know if the upgrade to Android 2.3

thanks

----------------------
We are working on an update. But as for now, there is no guarantee that this unit will be upgradeable."

I think we left with android 2.2

I think the 8024 should have some component of different video and the "driver" of the film of 7024 does not work.

The "spillb" posted in another topic a screen shot made by ScreenCast.

Is running short so we need to change something in the "video driver".

In reference to the above quote the 8024 has the following video component:

Processor: 1GHz Samsung Cortex A8
Memory: 512MB RAM
Storage: 4GB (onboard) up to 32GB (microSD)
Optical Drive: N/A
Screen: 8 inches (800x600 native resolution)
Graphics: PowerVR SGX 3D
Weight: 1.17 pounds
Dimensions (HWD): 8.11x6.22x0.55 inches
Operating System: Android 2.2 (Froyo)

Hope this helps.

I'm looking for someone who has a rooted COBY MID7024 with an otherwise stock ROM that can run a program I have modified. It will dump the contents of the NAND flash to the external sdcard. Once you have the image files for the nand partitions I would ask that you either post them or send them to me. I am wondering if I can create a recovery ROM based on the images that we get. My next project is trying to get the original uboot off my tablet so we can help those who have overwritten theirs.

The program and instructions can be found at http://t-rec.com/Android/CobyKyrosMid7024/DumpRom/

Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'm here for my downloading Kyros 7024, the ROM C8lean_v1.1
Do you think this ROM good for him? I'm downloading it for my Kyros do not care. If you think another rom better, please teach me.

Thank you.

I just tested the ROM on my tablet "C8lean_v1.1." My 7024 Kyros did not care and is now turning normal. However we can see some bugs, such as the camera does not work. And also the menu light stay lit all the time. O.

If anyone know of any better ROM and does not have the bugs of the menu buttons, let me know.

See ya.

its been well documented here that you should use a different UTSCRIPT when flashing a different ROM. Now your camera will not work. Please try to reflash again your tablet with the C8lean_v1.1. but replace your u-boot.bin with this

I tried to do this but when I typed "chmod +x dump_image" and pressed enter I got the message:chmod: dump_image: operation not permitted
The tablet is rooted. When I click on the folder "data" on droid explorer nothing happens, it doesnt show "local". But when I use root explorer I can copy the dump_image to data/local (and that's how I did)

Try to put to dump_image somewhere else then like /etc/ and see if you can use chmod there. Then continue with the instructions.

You could also use root explorer to change the permissions on dump_image.
Select all the executable check boxes.

I did that but I got a lot of "permission denied errors", you also dont explain what I should do next, what file should I send you? Is it a file in the sd card?

Ok Thanks. However I am out of time to test as soon as possible I will test and post the results to you.

Another thing, you have no idea how to solve the problem of buttons that are connected all the time?

See ya.
