Unbrick or update Coby Kyros 7024 with gingerbread firmware...!!!!

I'm guessing that since you updated your rom with different UBOOT.BIN your camera was change to GC0308... mine is still HI704 same with tileg... googling both they have different manufacturer.

This must be the main reason why your camera is not working.

flxrms, you probably are my savior! I just can't try to edit my init string right now because I left my 7024 at home today. But as soon as I get there, I'll try to manually probe and init that HI704, and if it works, I'll try to find out how to change my boot parameters to match that init you've posted.

Else, I can try to put those camera init commands in some rc.local kind of file, just will have to search for some file of that kind. But, nevertheless, I really thank you for that!

I already provided a u-boot.bin and standard utscript that have the HI704 as camera name. would you like to try it? hehe

can anybody help me?I flashed my coby Kyros 7024. While i flashed my coby we lost the energy. so whats happend. The coby didn`t start. I can press home + power and nothing happend. For a second the lights on the left side goes on than off. Did i have a chance to recooperate my coby?I`ll think the nand its overwritten but not completely. How can i reactivated my coby without calling the customer service. Thank you very much

This is just a wild guess, but maybe you can simply edit the u-boot.bin and u-boot-sd.bin files with a hex editor and simply search for "gc0308" or "camera" and change it's value to "hi704", then go ahead reinstalling your custom rom.

After read and read, I see people here doesnt have a definitely solution to this problem, so maybe Im able to help. Can someone make a zip with entirely system and check if theres a file named /proc/config.gz in original rom?

I can confirm that it works! using your modified u-boot.bin file and a normal utscript (not tileg's) the camera started working again! thank you flxrms!

Yeah I know, but the problem is: I didnt find a single rom working well. All of them Ive tested have some type of problem, such "low space" or "graphical glitches" or "something else that doesnt work", and I want to try making some AOSP with some binaries.

Btw, I use the c8lean with your uboot, etc. I can't say if cam works because lots of things are force-closing, even the camera app, so I dont know whats happening or what I must do after flashing that.

Well thats weird because i dont have any problems with the rom i (2.2) shared. The only rom i have problems are gingerbread rom.

Ive already tried C8lean_v0.41_v2, 7024-C8lean_v0.41_v2 and even the Haipad_M7_322_rootable-7024keys. None of them works flawless to me (the camera is not the main problem to me).

What app force close? I don't have any apps that force close since using this rom.

For example, 7024-C8lean_v0.41_v2 after boot, starts force-closing loads of apps, gallery, and many others, sometimes even when I try to open settings, they force-closed. Its strange.
